Momesso’s – Subs and Hockey

We recently tried out a somewhat local favorite for subs to see what all the hype was about. We had always heard what great subs they had any that people will line up to get them so we figured the Toxic Ways crew should go ahead and try it out to test this Theory. With some interesting thoughts during the course of our meal at a restaurant owned by an old hockey player, we left feeling like we were ready for the playoffs.
When you first walk into the location, the first thing you would think is that it’s nothing special then it turns out that its one of those hole in the walls that you love. As soon as we walked in, the waitress greeted us and let us know we could choose any seat we would like so we sat down and waited. It didn’t take her too long to come over and ask us if we wanted any drinks. We decided to throw in a curve ball and order an Ice Cappuccino. You never know what to expect when ordering one of these from places other than a coffee shop. Once she walked away from the table and went into the restaurant side of the place, you could hear the espresso machine going. The end results were actually really good and we enjoyed our first homemade ice cappuccino.
It came time to order our food so everyone at the table ordered Subs and fries…ok and a poutine for the fun of it. The subs have the option of 7’ or 14’ but with the fries and drinks, 7’ would be just fine. The food took roughly 10 minutes to be brought to our table which wasn’t bad. The waiting time was passed by us watching the hockey game within the restaurant. It was good to see hockey games on in a restaurant owned by a hockey player, it only made sense. The subs were at the table waiting and we all went in for the kill. We prepped our sandwiches and the table got quiet. The food was good because it takes a lot to get all of us quiet at once. We enjoyed our food as it had a unique taste to the sub. It was your standard sub but with a little twist in flavors. The bread was decent but not the best, it could have been softer or more your traditional sub bread. We ate the subs and fries and watch the game in peace.
After we finished our sandwiches, we sat back and we were satisfied. While we were not full, we were happy with the food. The price was standard for a meal of that size as we it was $15 for our meal and drink. While the front doesn’t look to inviting, look beyond it, take a seat and enjoy the food. This will be one of the better fast food joints you visit which isn’t a franchise. It’s the right place to gather the guys, have a bite to eat and enjoy the hockey game. We suggest going on a night where its not too busy where you can sit back and enjoy your sub! Its nothing expensive but will hit the spot everytime!
