The Main Deli – The Other Smoked Meat Joint

The Main Deli

Montreal is known for something so delicious that we might just overlook some of the greatness we can offer. When someone thinks of Smoke Meat in Montreal, the first thing that comes to mind is Schwartz but that is not the only place that offers this great sandwich of joy. If you take a moment just to look across the street, you will see the Main Deli which we visited this past week. We heard the talk that it is just like Schwartz just you don’t have the line up or big crowds, which made us want to give it a try to see if the Main Deli can live up to the hype!

Il Focolaio – Not Worth The Wait

When you hear Wood oven pizza right away you think of an awesome pizza that you just can’t wait to have. That was our thoughts when we heard about Il Focolaio which is located downtown Montreal in front of The Bay. We’ve always heard about this place and decided one night before a movie with the TW Crew. We only heard about this place slightly before going there for the first time and we figured it’s really hard to mess up pizza so what do we have to lose? It was time for some pizza and a fun night out.

Schwartz Smoked Meat

It’s always been said that no matter what, when you visit Montreal you have to stop by Schwartz for a smoked meat sandwich. Now growing up in Montreal is different because it’s always accessible and just by cruising up St. Laurent ST. You can see the line up to get in. We had been craving smoked meat for awhile now so we decided to give it try and see what the line up was like one night. We could picture it in our mind, the sandwich, the taste and the black cherry cola. Much to our surprise, we arrived to a relative empty restaurant and no line up. It must have been the rain that night but we walked in and got a seat right away.

Arizona Sports Bar – Toronto Airport

One place we tried on our last visit to Toronto was Arizona’s sports bar. It fits the mould so well, Tvs on every wall, dressed up girls serving you and the occasional pool table. This restaurant tries to incorporate the name Arizona into it though with some sand like colors, walls made out of stones and some light native decorations. It’s an interesting choice of what they incorporate Arizona with as it could be said all those things are south western items. We arrived at the restaurant and were slightly taken back at first. Dark decor, girls that could be #toxicbabes and the bar right at the door. Maybe we found a local place to go to when we visit.

Broadway Cheesecake

Finding good cheesecake is a lot harder then it seems. You have to look around for a good location and sometimes they just don’t live up to the hype. Montreal has several locations for cheesecake but this franchise stands out. Broadway Cheesecake solves all those problems, it lives up to the hype and you won’t regret it. You have to try it yourself to understand how good it is.

Bubba Gump Shrimp – Time Square

One stop we like to make while in Time Square for a bite to eat is at Bubba Gump Shrimp. The restaurant which is based on the movie Forrest Gump which features all different types of shrimp that you can eat is a perfect way to start or end your day. While it does not have any in relation with the Big Apple, it’s still a decent place to eat and get some souvenirs from while you’re in the area. We decided to have supper at Bubba Gump before we went see a musical, rest and fuel up for the night.

Warren77 – Making Sport Bars Classy

One item to do on our trip to the big apple was to visit Warren 77 for dinner. We were interested in visiting this location as NHL Badboy Sean Avery is involved with this high end sports bar and being a Ranger fan, was a must stop. After a day of sightseeing around the city, we walked to Warren St. for a dinner which we were not sure what to expect. The menu looked like it was all bar food and it seemed like we were going into a typical pub restaurant. When we arrived, we had to take a step back to take it all in and make sure we were at the right location.
