Montreal is known for something so delicious that we might just overlook some of the greatness we can offer. When someone thinks of Smoke Meat in Montreal, the first thing that comes to mind is Schwartz but that is not the only place that offers this great sandwich of joy. If you take a moment just to look across the street, you will see the Main Deli which we visited this past week. We heard the talk that it is just like Schwartz just you don’t have the line up or big crowds, which made us want to give it a try to see if the Main Deli can live up to the hype!

And It Starts For Facebook

When Facebook when public, everyone knew it was a matter of time before they start trying to make a profit off of their users. They would get everyone hooked on the product then start charging them for services. Well those days are now starting as Facebook has started a trial of charging a $1.00 fee for certain messages. Don’t worry, it’s not for the chat service its self but for when you message someone that isn’t your friend. Right now all messages you send to someone you are not connected with are routed to their other mailbox but for the premium price that can change. Once a week, you will be able to send someone a message to their inbox for the price of $1.00. Is it really worth that amount? Sure this charge will not affect everyone but it’s just one small step in the service fee direction Facebook is being pressured to go towards by Wall Street.

Holiday Inn – Manchester Airport NH

One of the best parts of travelling is the fact that you get to try different hotels and compare them to favorites all over the place. This was our second time visiting Manchester New Hampshire and we decided to find a hotel close to their local mall as we were there for Black Friday shopping. We found the Manchester Airport Holiday Inn for a nice low price. This isn’t to be confused with Manchester Holiday Inn which is located 5 minutes away from our hotel. Luckily for us, we were able to try them both out and now we have a clear idea where we could stay for our next trip.

We recently tried out a somewhat local favorite for subs to see what all the hype was about. We had always heard what great subs they had any that people will line up to get them so we figured the Toxic Ways crew should go ahead and try it out to test this Theory. With some interesting thoughts during the course of our meal at a restaurant owned by an old hockey player, we left feeling like we were ready for the playoffs.

Well another hotel stay has been completed and it’s time to review of stay in the location. We decided to stay at the La Quinta Inn & Suites in South Burlington, Vermont since the price was right. This was the first time we stayed at this hotel for our adventures in Burlington, we were not sure what to expect from the place but hearing that their morning breakfasts were waffles we couldn’t resist. We booked a weekend at La Quinta and figured what was the worst that could happen to us. We’re not demanding, comfortable beds, clean and welcome service. Well we got most of those during our trip.

One thing about going on vacation is the restaurants and food you eat at. Well after so many days of eating all that food you just want something normal and the Sizzler was that place. The Sizzler isn’t anything fancy but its regular food and a decent price. It was years since we’ve had meal at the Sizzler so we decided to go ahead and remember what it was all about, the years really made it blurry for us apparently. The place is a franchise chain but we might have figured out why it really hasn’t expanded yet.

We recently had the opportunity to check out the recent investment by Gordon Ramsay called Laurier Gordon Ramsay. This was previously known as Laurier BBQ but the name changed once it was purchased as Ramsay’s first Canadian restaurant. Located just off of Du Parc street, the restaurant adds hype and a unique offering compared to most standard restaurant in Montreal. There is obviously the concern of just a name for the restaurant but we had to try it out for ourselves at least once. We waited this long as we heard the place had some serious line-ups but we had reservations and avoid all that hassle.
